Industry
The organisation and control of media industries is an important area of study. Media industries are profit driven and compete for audience share. Media industries such as the radio industry or the magazine industry are often owned and controlled globally rather than locally, and the number of New Zealand organisations that own the media is small.
Some examples of media industries are: the magazine industry, the film industry, the advertising industry, the radio industry, the television industry.
